Class Outing 3 ( 1Jova ) Review

After the great experience from the second class outing. I really looked forward to the third class outing that was originally planned in sentosa. After that the people in charge was changed to Teresa and Bambby. Which also changed the venue of the third class outing from Sentosa to Pasir Ris Park. I am very disappointed with the third class outing as there was a serious lack of preparation.

People had 2 venues to choose to gather. You either gather at Pasir Ris Park by 9.15am for those who do not know how to get to Pasir Ris Park or to gather at Pasir Ris Park itself by 10am. No one chose the latter and the attendance of that day was only 15 to 17 which consist of only 2 boys. Me and Wei Hao. It does seems like a girls outing though and it really is a bad thing to not see at least 85% of the class going. But of course i will understand for those we was not able to make it. But some people chose not to go thinking that the class outing suck.

The first thing when we reached there, we met up with Teresa who is waiting for us at the bus stop of Pasir Ris Park. She then brought us to a shelter and Bambby was there preparing some stuff for the whole outing. I saw balloons and sweets all over the floor. I didn't really thought much as i have no idea what was going to happen. The first activity was Wacko. A classic game in which helps in knowing each others name better and also a perfect way of wasting time. Thinking that we already know each other rather well and with the small attendance which makes up a small circle, i think that the idea of the game wasn't so good. Players would have to do a forfeit which will be randomly picked by them in pieces of paper inside a box. These players are those who got wacked before calling another classmate's name.

Forfeit on the first hit isn't too good of an idea. There was around 10 pieces of paper, each of different forfeit in the box. Which means there would be 10 people who would do the forfeit but some people would have more than one. The forfeit are dull and lame which makes no sense and seriously makes you not wish to perform the forfeit. You will have the kind of thought that this sucks. Who made up with all this forfeits. Of course not everyone wished to perform the forfeit.

Next we moved on to Pass the Parcel. The game was rather boring and there was not any bonding within the class of the few activities. The forfeits in this game are too rather stupid. I don't mean to offend anyone, or showing any personal biased, but the forfeits created are seriously horrible. The game ended quickly and we saw that there was another round. Of course after having a bad experience from the first Pass the Parcel game. I don't think playing another round was such a good idea. Of course the second round was postponed.

The next activity was Captain's Ball, which i thought was a good activity to bond the class together. But after knowing that we are using balloons to play, I thought it was rather special, or should i say, weird. After splitting ourselves into 2 groups. The organisers then explained the game rules. I got no idea how the game is going to play and so on. There were sweets in the balloon which i got no idea what is it for. People practically just want the sweet rather than to enjoy the game. The game was planned for at least 30 minutes or more but it ended within 5 to 8 minutes. After that the organisers had no idea what to do next. So they just let everyone go to the playground to have fun. This point shows how badly prepared the whole outing is.

After playing till 12pm plus. We headed for lunch at White Sands Mall. Which means of course we will not be going back and playing any beach activities which was planned and of course no Jovian Race in which was stated. After lunch, they had the last minute decision of watching a movie. People started complaining and some went home leaving only a 11 people who wanted to watch movie. Some people have no money so they either idle around waiting for people to finish watching the movie, or just go home. But some, even though they had no money, still tagged along to watch the movie resulting some people having the lend some money to them. This happened as people did not bring much money as the email stated that all activities would not cost any money.

After the whole movie ended, the Pass the Parcel game was then held at an open area at E!hub, where we watched the movie. Of course the boys did not join in because the experience of the first Pass the Parcel game was terrible.

Closing Comments

The overall experience was not as good as expected and i am utterly disappointed with it. The whole outing was badly planned and most activities were planned on the last minute. The pricing was average but still affected some people due to the reckless planning of activities. Also i hope that more people would have joined in the class outing.

Pricing

My ratings: 7.5/10. The pricing was average and still affected people due to the movies. After stating on the email that all activities would not require any money. Of course most people would bring money only for lunch.

Preparations

My ratings: 3.7/10. The whole preparations for the outing is horrible with all the last minute planning which affected a few classmates. This is one point organisers should take note.

Activities

My rating: 5/10. None of the activities helped bond the class together and only the movie was a great thing. If the whole thing was welled prepared, i'm sure there would be more people watching the movie.

Overall

My ratings: 5.2/10. It may look a little harsh for such a score but i don't think so. Take this as a learning experience for organisers which i hope will help them in the next outing. I am looking forward to the next outing and i hope that it will be a simple one.

Class outing 2 ( 1Jova ) Review

The first thought when i saw the schedule i was like. What is this? This is gonna suck so bad. I mean. Bowling, ice skating, lunch, SPECIAL surprise. How fun could it be? The first class outing sucked. So didn't really have a good impression of it. But when i went for this second class outing. I am really surprise with the whole thing. It wasn't really all so boring. It turn out ok!

First thing when i went there. I was told over 30 people are going to turn up for the class outing. So i was quite amazed. But when i reached there, no one was there. Well, maybe i was a bit too early. So i waited. A few people passed by but all of them were girls. So i thought i was going to be the only boy to attend this class outing because i don't really think the boys would be attending this kind of thing after having such a bad impression of class outing. Then i start to see Jun Xiang and Clarence. Which makes me felt better. LOL. When it was near 9, only 3 boys and 15 plus girls or less were present. I mean, whats a class outing when not everyone in this class is attending.

3 of us, Jun Xiang, Clarence and I went there later. The first activity was bowling. When we reached there. I was surprise to see almost most of the people in our class there. Well. Not all the boys were present but there were 2 more boys joining us. Jia Peng and Phileon. Played about 2 games and the next activity was ice skating. I seriously did not think that ice skating was good idea in the first place. Plus the price is too high. $18.50 per person. I finally decided to join in for the ice skating activity after much hesitation. Besides, why not join when everyone is joining right? It was a little too cold at first. But after skating around for a while. It is okay. And quite fun. It was difficult for some and easy for some. I thought it was quite okay thinking that it is quite similar to roller blading.

After skating for quite a long time. I was rather tired. Stopped for a drink. Looked at the time and realise that there was about one hour left. I thought there was still a long time left to skate but after skating a few rounds i realised time was almost up. I injured myself during the skating but that did not really affect the overall skating experience. I think that ice skating is a really good idea. It really bond the class together by helping one another in ice skating for those who are a little slow in learning to ice skate. But after one hour or more, everyone can now skate on their own. Which makes them acquire a new skill. Ice skating. I really must say this activity is good.

Lunch after that and more people start to join in. Then we have a tour which is what the mean by the so called SPECIAL surprise. I think they should not have called it a tour. I mean it is more of an amazing race to me rather than a tour. Anyway. There is like the so called tour and each group was given a piece of paper with clues around and puzzle to solve. And each puzzle you solve will lead you to a clue. As groups of 5, and with a few groups competing with each other to see who can complete all the task first. With clues that brings you to a new location, the group will have to take a picture of them at the location and show it in the end With other side quizzes, it really entertain me for quite a while trying to solve those quizzes. Traveling around Part of Singapore is really exciting especially with your friends. The winner, which is the first team that reach the finishing point first, will get a reward.

Closing comment

Overall, the class outing 2 is really great, with all the exciting things to do. But one thing is that it is a little to costly for some people. Having to spent over $30 plus. It really isn't a good thing to some of the people with financial problem. Also with people coming at different timing, it doesn't show the kind of bond our class have. Hope next time everyone can attend the class outing and not coming at the time they want. I really look forward to see the next class outing.

Pricing

My ratings: 6.8/10. It is really costly and we are spending too much money just on one outing. We can such outing once every semester but not all outings should be so costly.

Preparation

My ratings: 8/10. Class outing committees did a great job in planning what is suitable to do and what is not. With great planning, their great effort deserve our applause.

Activities

My ratings: 8/10. The activities were awesome, even if it is considered very costly, it is really a great way to bond the class with all the selected activities.

Overall

My ratings: 7.6/10. The overall experience is just great. Hope the class outing committees continue to do such great job provided the think twice on the pricing of the activities.

Hey all!

Just had class outing on the 8th of June. It was a great improvement for the class outing committees. I really enjoyed it. I will give my full review of it on the next post.

Today i went to Celine's house to do history project with jessica. Jun le was in the group too. but he did not go in the end. Making me the only boy around. zz... Anyway. We didnt really do the project. We mostly play and we went to Mac cos i was starving. After that went home at 6.

Nothing much happening around recently. Tomorrow imma gonna go to my friend outing with my primary school clique. So. hope i will have fun. Bye all!

I will continue posting about games, electronics and movies cos ERNEST wants to read it. I will also be posting bout normal stuffs. But in another post. so there will be 2 post each time. ya.

Guess i haven been talking bout G.E.M in a long time. A few months i think. So this is gonna be a long long post.

Games.

First things first. A Ton of great games had been comin out over the past few months.

Games like Splinter Cell: Conviction, God of War 3, ModNation Racers, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Red Dead Redemption and many many more. so i will ttalk about every single one of them so that you will know how good is the game.

Halo: Reach beta

The beta version of Halo: Reach came out during the start of May. Millions of players were playing it and there were many things that have changed in that game. All the weapons in the game are new and there are also new modes in the game. There are also new maps and also new power up skills. There are power ups like armour lock, Jet pack, Sprint and evade and more. There is something new in the game which is assassination. Players get to humiliate their opponents by assassinating them. Though the beta had ended, i will definitely get this game during the launch in September.

Monster Hunter Tri

My Rating:8.5/10

Monster Hunter Tri came out on wii during mid april. The game was great. They have new monsters and new map areas to explore. The game isnt like God of War which goes up to monster and spamming buttons like a crazy fool thinking that u can pwn the dragon within a minute or 2. This game requires great skill. U need to know the right time of when to attack, defend, or dodge. The multiplayer of this game is really one of the great thing about this game. u can go up to a team of 4 and take down a giant dragon. This game is really one of capcom game title that is worth ur money to try. It really is one of the greatest monster hunter hits since the last one from the PSP.

Splinter cell: Conviction.

My ratings:9.4/10

First thing first. This game is wicked! This game have spectacular graphic that looks just like a real human. Im serious. The physics of this games are also great. The story takes place whereby you are Sam Fisher, and your daughter had been murdered. Thus you get back as a spy and finds the real person who murdered your daughter. Once you start on this game, you will never feel like stopping cos the game is just too great. So i dont want to say more or i will spoil the game. So get a space in your game library for this game already.

L4D2.

My ratings:9/10

Left 4 Dead 2 just come out with a new campaign called " The passing ". In this game, You are able to use characters from L4D 1. I dont really have much to say on this campaign but it is worth trying it.

Fifa World Cup 2010: South Africa.

My ratings: 8.6/10

This game have all the country that is taking part in the world cup. Even if they did not qualified for it. There are a total of 150 plus countries that can be used and weirdly, Singapore is one of them. lol. The presentation of this game is much better than Fifa 10 and the graphics are only slightly better. Though some of the players arent very well modeled. But still, If you are a crazy fan of soccer. This is a game which can satisfy you.

Alan Wake.

My ratings:9/10

Alan Wake is a phycological action thriller like The X files, max payne and so on. The environment of this game is very well structured and the lighting effect are also very well done. The conversation between people are also very interesting. The game have some glitches and lag sometimes a=but that doesnt affect the overall gaming experience. The ending of the game is a little too imcomplete. Thus maybe there maybe a sequel to it. So if you like mystery and thrillers, then get this game.

Super Mario Galaxy 2.

My ratings: 9.7/10

This game really 'wowed' me when i started trying it. The puzzle scheme of this game is really great and the whole gameplay mechanics is just stunning. There arent really any difference to the graphics but Nintendo really did a great job with this game. This game is a sure contender for game of the year. This game is really a must have if you own a wii at home.

Split/Second.

My ratings:8.6/10

Split/Second is a new kind of racing game. The race track will have all kinds of things happen to it. From the explosion of buildings, to exploding barrels dropping from helicopters, and from burning bus flying out of windows, to large containers from habours dropping from the sky and crash your car. Each of the things that happens are controlled by you. Drift, have close call to the environment that tries to wreck you or having air time will allow you to fill up power bars. There are a total of three power bars to fill up. Everytime you try to wreck some one, one power bar will be used up. Or if you have all power bar filled up and use the ultimate wreck that will use up all three of the power bar. The car are very welled modeled. So is the environment of the race. This game is definitely a fun filled game that entertains people who like fast cars and exploding tracks.

Red Dead Redemption.

My ratings:9.8/10

This is a game by Rockstar. And Rockstar is well known for their open wide area traveling game. This game goes all the way to the west. A cowboy style game. From riding horses, saving damsel in distress and winning some poker, to killing bad guys. The game graphics is tremendous. With extraordinary conversations with the people around you. This game had tons of quest and side quest that can entertain you for a long time. Plus the multiplayer option. But there are a few bugs but it wont affect the overall gameplay.It is just great. This game is one of the game you should buy back home to try.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

My ratings:9.6/10

One of the best game that ever come out on PSP. The story of this game is seriously epic and awesome. It really makes you think, ' damn this game is good. ' The graphics are top notch and even though it is on a PSP, sometimes you can play till you forget it is on a hand-held console cos the game is too good. The multiplayer is also great. Work in teams of 4 and taking bosses down. This game is from capcom. So is Monster Hunter too. And in this game, you can fight with monsters in Monster Hunter and it is seriously epic. I dun want to spoil the game much, but i seriously have alot more to talk about. So it is a must have game if you own a psp.

News on Games.

CoD6 Modern Warfare 2 just came out with a new resurgence map pack consisting of a few new maps. The new maps looks great. It sure would be one hell of a fight for players.

Nexon ( from maple story ) just show cased a new game called Dungeon Fighters Online. The brand new games have unique art style that are inspired from the old guilty gear and street fighter. The game have 5 classes.

DJ Hero 2 have been officially announced. There will be over 70 plus new songs. From Lady GaGa "Just dance" mixed with Deadmau5 " Ghost n stuff" to Pussycat dolls " Don't Cha" Mixed with Pitbull " I know you want me (Calle Ocho)". With lots of new stuff going on in DJ hero 2. It is definitely one game worth looking at During E3.

Valve announced that Portal 2 wont be showcasing during E3 but there would be a surprise from Valve. Let's hope there would be Half-life 2: Episode 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. xD.

Electronics

Apple just showed their latest smartphone. Iphone 4. The iphone 4 is just great. With better screen resolution, multi tasking, 5 mega pixel camera with LED flashlight. Front camera for video chatting and many more.

Movie.

Mortal Kombat rebooted? Mortal Kombat just released a teaser trailer on a film called Mortal Kombat Rebirth. This isn't any of the teaser trailer that are fan made. This is a real one. Hope to hear more of it? More details will be given next time.

Final Destination 5 found a new director to direct the movie. New Line Cinemas has chosen Steve Quale to direct the survival horror franchise.
